The City of Snyder fire marshals have additional duties in Emergency Management, in addition to their other duties. These professionals work to prepare the City with regards to all phases of Emergency Management. Deputies possess all the same power and authority of the EMC in his/her absence.
The Deputy EMCs work to maintain the City/County
Emergency Management Plan (EMP) a detailed written plan which requires submission to and approval by the State of Texas.
This Deputies also work to maintain the
Emergency Operations Center (EOC) in a state of constant readiness, and coordinate various volunteer groups who are assigned duties in the EMP. Other duties involve hazard mitigation aimed at limiting or eliminating various vulnerabilities identified in the EMP. The Deputy EMCs also work in public education and in training of various employees and volunteers to work in the different areas identified in the EMP.
