The Wastewater Treatment Plant provides proper treatment of all wastewater received from the Snyder sanitary sewer and appropriately disposes of plant effluent according to State and federal requirements. The plant is operated by operators certified by the
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
Activated Sludge ProcessThe plant uses an activated sludge process that includes oxidation ditches and clarifiers. Through this process bacteria is used to break down waste matter in the sewage. Once the bio-solids are removed, the effluent is treated with ultra violet lights to disinfect the water. The treated effluent is utilized for irrigation on the City alfalfa field and the Western Texas College Golf Course with the remainder channeled into Deep Creek.
