Making Snyder Brighter

Making Snyder a Bright Spot in West Texas

There have been many people and organizations involved throughout the years in making our community a bright spot in West Texas. The Snyder Rotary Club provided the funds to landscape the boulevard leading to Cogdell Memorial Hospital.

The Snyder Beautification Committee, the City of Snyder, merchants, and interested citizens have made it possible to enhance the appearance of the Square. This is still the heart of our community and everyone works hard to keep it active and the buildings at full occupancy.

The Snyder Garden Club, sponsored by the Beautification Committee,Downtown County Courthouseconducts a Most Improved Yard and Business of the Month contest from May through September of each year. These winners are featured in the Snyder Daily News. The Beautification Committee, along with volunteers and donations from private businesses, provided all that was necessary to construct Deep Creek Walking Path.

One of the features around the square that is of great pride is the Ritz Community Theatre. It took many hours of volunteer labor, money, material donations, the ability to keep going when it looked impossible, and a knowledge that the citizens of Snyder always support each other to complete this project.

Snyder has been the recipient of the All American City Award and is a current Keep Texas Beautiful Proud Community. This is a community that works together - each one lifting up the other to create a great place to live.
