The Snyder Fire Department has been proudly serving Snyder and Scurry County for almost 100 years. The Department was organized on April 15, 1911 as a combination (paid and volunteer) department.

Today, the City of Snyder Municipal Fire Department consists of 10 full-time fire fighting professionals. The Department works hand-in-hand with the Snyder Volunteer Fire Department Inc., a non-profit organization of approximately 35 men and women (many of whom are certified fire fighters). The municipal and volunteer departments function as a single department responding annually to approximately 450 fire and rescue incidents.
